The FDT frame software from ifm, the ifm container, features a special, user-friendly user mode. When the user starts the ifm container program he is supported by a special wizard which relieves him of all necessary settings. This wizard allows the user to choose between the classic mode and the FDT mode. The classic mode is of great advantage to users without any or with very little knowledge of FDT but also to users who want to make the connection to a device with a simple point-to-point connection and can therefore do without a complex FDT topology.

A change between classic and FDT mode is, however, possible at any time. The ifm sensors whose parameters have so far been set and read via the EPS service program can now perform these as well as extended functions even more comfortably using the ifm container program. The FDT mode offers all users with FDT knowledge the familiar network topology with the complete FDT functionality.
