I finally got around to working on this. Thank you, the thread you linked was very helpful and after a little research into batch files and switch statements I was able to do exactly what I intended. I changed the bootDOS.bat file slightly from what you had Dave and removed the /reboot command. BootDOS.bat: D: DOS mbr32.exe 0 0 /a The boot partition is the 100MB System Reserve partition at the beginning of the drive for Windows 7. I put a shortcut to this batch file in the Windows startup folder and configured mbr32.exe to run in administrator mode under the compatibility tab. This way the active partition will be set to the DOS partition after log in (without user interaction) which starts the restore process each time the computer is booted.
