Actually I´m running GTR2 on XP Pro 32bit SP3 with tools like the (along with the 3GB-switch setting for Windows) and PriFinitty2 (for Multicore-support) and can´t get more than 50 cars on Nordschleife. The FPS on Starting grid is 30 (with Headlights on it is only 8-15). In Race I have 60 FPS that is best possible for me.

I can´t have the Shadows on Full. So I want to know, if I buy Windows XP 64bit or even Win7, will I be able to get more cars running and will the Performance be better? I would do this only for GTR2, because I´m fanatic with getting my VLN/Nordschleife-mod running as best. My system is: Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.50 Ghz 4 GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 9800GT Soundblaster X-FI.

Take the money you would spend on a new OS and replace your 2. Qss Printer Driver. 50ghz cpu with something more cutting edge. Keep in mind, if you have an LCD monitor and you have vsync enabled, you will only see a max of 60 fps no matter what hardware/software you throw at it. (unless you have a newer monitor that is running a 120ghz). And, after you boot GTR2, exit the sim by alt-tab and then alt-ctrl-del to turn on the task manager. From there you can assign all 4 cores to run gtr2. GTR2 was coded long before multi-core processors and by default, only uses one core.
